The publishing industry has always been fascinating to me, but it wasn’t until I started working at TIME Magazine in their IT department that I truly became enamored with it. The fast-paced environment, the constant deadlines, and the ever-evolving landscape of media made for an exciting and challenging work experience.
One of the proudest moments during my time at TIME Magazine was when my name was printed in the Masthead. Being listed on the Masthead was a true honor and a testament to the hard work and dedication that I had put into my career. Seeing my name alongside the names of the talented and respected professionals who made up the TIME team was incredibly validating and reminded me of the important role I played in the publication’s success. Being part of such a prestigious publication and having my name included in the Masthead was a career highlight that I will always cherish.
While at TIME, I learned about the founder of the magazine, Henry R. Luce, and his vision for the publication. Luce was a true visionary, and his quote about business resonated with me deeply.
“Business, more than any other occupation, is a continual dealing with the future; it is a continual calculation, an instinctive exercise in foresight,”
– Henry R. Luce
Luce understood that business is all about anticipating the future, and this is especially true in the publishing industry. In order to succeed, publishers need to stay ahead of the curve, constantly adapting to changing trends and technologies. They must be able to predict what their readers want and need and deliver it to them in a way that is engaging and meaningful.
Inspired by Luce’s vision, I decided to create my own publishing site. I wanted to create a platform that would allow me to share my thoughts and ideas with others and to connect with like-minded individuals who shared my passion for business. With this in mind, I set out to create a site that would be both informative and engaging, and that would allow me to share my experiences and insights with others.
